Ivonne’s Testimony

I was born into a very poor family in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. My father drank himself to death when I was eight and my mother became very ill and was unable to take care of us. At the age of 12, I was adopted and brought to the United States. I came with a lot of emotional baggage that only God could heal.

In 1995, I was invited to an Acquire the Fire convention. I knew about God… but did not involve Him in much of my life. During the ‘missions’ night of the service, I felt God calling me to give my life completely to him. I felt so much love and peace that night there was no denying my experience. God had rescued me out of Honduras for a greater purpose. In 1999, I graduated with a bachelors in Psychology from Oral Roberts University. I went on to get my masters in counseling at Texas A&M Commerce and worked for seven years in the domestic violence field. I have gained valuable experience as an LPC to help heal abused and neglected children. I know it has all been preparation for this great work that awaits us in Mexico. I’m so excited to see all God is going to do. I know that soon I will be able to add more to this testimony and continue to yell “God YOU are awesome!”
